Short Biography

Asifa is a Registered Physiotherapist who received her physiotherapy training from the University of Western Ontario in 1998. She also received a degree in Biology/Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 1995. Asifa is certified in Anatomical Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and has advanced training in IMS/trigger point dry needling. She is a Clinical Pilates instructor and is trained in mat and reformer STOTT Pilates rehab exercises. Asifa uses a hands-on approach and listens to each of her client’s goals when providing an individualized treatment program. Her unique treatment plans consist of a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, anatomical acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation, therapeutic modalities (shockwave, laser, ultrasound, electrical stimulation), taping and therapeutic Pilates exercises. Asifa has over 20 years of clinical experience in treating neck and back injuries, whiplash, sports injuries, arthritis and post-operative rehab. Outside the clinic, Asifa can be found hiking the North Shore trails, walking the seawall with friends, or practicing yoga and Pilates.
